How long do alterations take?

Most standard alterations take around 2–3 days. Same-day or next-day service may also be possible depending on the type of alteration and how busy we are.

More complicated work, such as jacket relining or major alterations, can take longer. If you have a deadline, let us know and we’ll always do our best to work around it.

Do I need a fitting?

We strongly recommend having your fitting done with us in the shop. It allows us to pin and measure the garment properly and usually gives a much more accurate result.

If we carry out the fitting and something needs adjusting afterwards, we can correct it without charging you again.

If the garment has been pinned or measured at home and the measurements are inaccurate, we may need to charge for any additional work required to correct it.

Can you alter dresses and jackets?

Yes. We alter dresses, jackets, trousers, skirts, coats, shirts and many other garments. We can also carry out more complicated alterations depending on the garment and what you need done.

Can you replace zips and linings?

Yes. We can replace many types of zips and garment linings. The price and turnaround will depend on the item, the work involved and the materials required.

Can I send a photo for a quote?

Yes. You can send us a photo on WhatsApp and we can usually give you an estimate.

However, we may not always be able to give a firm quote from a photo alone. Some alterations depend on how the garment is constructed inside, which we can only properly assess when we have the garment in front of us.

The final price may therefore be different once we inspect the item in the shop.

Do you offer urgent alterations?

Yes, depending on the type of work and how busy we are. We can sometimes offer same-day or next-day alterations.

If you have an important date or deadline, tell us when you contact us and we’ll let you know what we can realistically do.
